The Epson Stylus Photo R2000 utilizes Epson’s UltraChrome Hi-Gloss® 2 pigment ink system, which includes both Matte Black and Photo Black ink cartridges. While both cartridges must be installed for the printer to function, the printer automatically selects the appropriate black ink based on the media type in use. This auto-selection ensures optimal black density and superior contrast for various paper types. ​

The Matte Black ink is specifically formulated for use with matte and fine art papers, delivering deep, rich blacks and excellent contrast on these media types. In contrast, the Photo Black ink is optimized for glossy, luster, satin, and semi-gloss papers, ensuring vibrant prints with a glossy finish

The UltraChrome Hi-Gloss 2 ink set, including the Matte Black ink, is designed to produce colorful, vibrant prints with beautiful skin tones. These pigment-based inks are highly water, smudge, and fade-resistant, ensuring that your prints maintain their quality over time.

Genuine Cartridges will usually be despatched from either the Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth Warehouse the same day if ordered before 3pm. As a general guide, deliveries to major cities will take 1 to 3 days whilst it could take up to 5 days for remote areas.
